Systematic Review Tools
Systematic reviews can involve dealing with large numbers of records. To make this easier, tools have been developed to assist teams in performing reviews.
SR tools support collaborative multi-member access to records, assist in data analysis, screening, record keeping, meta-analysis and presentation.
There are too many to include here, but some options include:
- Covidence by The Cochrane Collaboration.
- Covidence streamlines the screening process.
- allows multiple reviewers to collaborate.
- screen at abstract or full text stage
- facilitates data management
- works with other SR programs

- Rayyan is a free tool which supports collaborative screening of results
- Abstrackr is a free tool which supports collaborative screening of results
- EPPI Reviewer by the EPPI-Centre at the UCL Institute of Education, University College London.
- SR Accelerator includes an de-duplicating function, word frequency analyzer and conversion of search strategy between databases.
- CitationChaser identifies citations of articles and allows bulk download.
